K-12 Educators Day workshop/symposium

TIME – Saturday, Oct 28, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.

DESCRIPTION –

K12 Educator Day This day features a workshop on safely managing chemicals and speaker talks in the morning. Afternoon activities include a presentation on the new North Carolina standards and a hands-on set of safe and fun demonstrations that can be used in the classroom. Continuing education credits can be earned by participants and lunch is included. Other K12 resources and opportunities to network will be available. Space limited to 35 teachers.

SCHEDULE –

9:00 am – 11:30 am Managing Chemicals Safely Workshop

11:30 am – Noon: Invited Speaker Noon – 1:00 pm: Boxed Lunch Provided

1:00 pm – 1:30pm: New NC HS Standards (Tammy Knight, Alamance-Burlington, NC School System)

1:30 pm – 2:30 pm: Safe and fun demos for the classroom (Dr. Al Hazari)
